It tells the story of Heidi, a cheerful little girl who goes to live with her grandfather in the Swiss Alps. She quickly grows to love the mountains, the goats, and the simple life. Later, she is taken to Frankfurt to live with a wealthy family and be a companion to a sick girl, Clara. Though she struggles with homesickness, Heidi’s kindness and joy bring healing to Clara, and eventually she returns happily to her mountain home.
